Deadlines for Application Submission
There is no statutory deadline for applying for Vocational Training Allowance (Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe). The application can be submitted at any time; however, note that the BAB benefit is only granted retroactively from the month of application submission. Deadline for Submitting Missing Documents
If documents are missing at the time of application, the Employment Agency sets a deadline for submission. This deadline usually lasts two to four weeks. If the required evidence is not submitted on time, the application may be rejected.
Deadline for Continuation Application
A notification of approval for Vocational Training Allowance (Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe) is usually valid for twelve months. After that, a continuation application must be submitted to continue receiving funding. The continuation application should be submitted no later than two months before the current approval period expires to ensure uninterrupted payments.
Deadlines in Case of Changes in Circumstances
Changes in personal or economic circumstances, such as a move, a change of training location, or changes in income conditions, must be reported to the Employment Agency without delay. The deadline for notification is generally two weeks after the change occurs.
Deadline for Appeal in Case of Rejection
If the application for BAB is rejected, the trainee has the right to file an appeal within one month after receiving the rejection notice. The appeal must be submitted in writing to the responsible Employment Agency.
