Personal Data
At the beginning of the CV, the applicant’s personal data is listed. This includes name, address, telephone number, and email address. Optionally, date and place of birth as well as nationality can be added. A professional application photo can be placed at the top left or right of the document.
School Education (Ausbildung)
The educational path is listed in reverse chronological order, starting with the current or most recently attended educational institution. Details about degrees and expected graduation dates are crucial. If there are relevant focuses or special achievements, these should also be mentioned. Example:
– Since 2021: Sample High School, Degree: General University Entrance Qualification (expected 2024)
– 2017 – 2021: Musterdorf Secondary School, Degree: Intermediate Certificate
Work Experience/Internships
Here, completed internships, holiday jobs, or other professional experiences relevant to the apprenticeship position (Ausbildungsplatz) are listed. Again, the listing is in reverse chronological order. Important information includes the company, the duration of the internship, and a brief description of the tasks. Example:
– 06/2023 – 07/2023: Internship at Sample Company GmbH, Logistics Department
Tasks: Assisting with goods receipt, warehouse management, gaining insight into logistics processes
Special Skills and Abilities
In this section, relevant skills that can be advantageous in the vocational training (Ausbildung) are listed. These include computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, programming knowledge), language skills (English, French, etc.), as well as driver’s license classes. Example:
– Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
– Fluent in English, spoken and written (B2 level)
– Driver’s license class B
Interests and Hobbies
Indicating interests and hobbies is optional but can help convey a more personal image of the applicant. Only activities that appear relevant or positive for the sought-after apprenticeship position (Ausbildungsplatz) should be mentioned. Example:
– Member of the school first aid service
– Playing football in a club (since 2019)
Signature and Date
At the end of the CV, the current date and handwritten signature officially conclude the CV. In electronic applications, the signature is often scanned and inserted digitally. Example:
Sampletown, September 1st, 2024
Max Mustermann
Format and Design
The tabular CV should be created in a simple, clear design that is easy to read. Ideally, a sans-serif font like Arial or Calibri is used, and the font size should be between 10 and 12 points. The CV should generally not be longer than one page, especially when applying for an apprenticeship position (Ausbildungsplatz), as applicants typically do not yet have extensive professional experience.
