Special Situations Regarding Vocational Training Assistance (Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe) for Financing Vocational Training (Ausbildung) in Germany 2025

A change of the training company during the receipt of vocational training assistance (BAB) for financing vocational training (Ausbildung) must be reported to the Employment Agency immediately, as this can affect the amount of support. The BAB benefits can continue to be granted if the dual training is continued.

Vocational Training Assistance (BAB) can be granted during a company retraining to finance vocational training, provided the retraining takes place in a recognized vocational training occupation and the financial requirements are met.

Trainees with a recognized disability may receive additional benefits and special exemptions under the Vocational Training Allowance (BAB) to finance their vocational training (Ausbildung) and to meet the special requirements during the training.

Vocational Training Assistance (BAB) can also be granted for part-time training to finance vocational training (Ausbildung), provided the part-time training is approved and the financial conditions are met. The amount of BAB benefits is calculated proportionally based on the reduced working hours.

Single parents in vocational training (Ausbildung) can receive additional allowances as part of the vocational training assistance (Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe) to alleviate the burden of childcare and living costs.

Vocational Training Assistance (BAB) can also be applied for in the second educational path to finance vocational training (Ausbildung), provided that the training is dual and that the general funding conditions are met.
