Fixed Disbursement Rhythm
The Bafög disbursements generally occur monthly in advance, usually at the beginning of each month. This means that the funding amount for a month is already available in the applicant’s account at the beginning of the month. This arrangement ensures that supported trainees can pay their ongoing expenses on time.
First Disbursement Date after Approval
The first disbursement occurs as soon as the Bafög application has been approved and all requirements are met. The disbursement begins at the earliest in the month when the complete application has been submitted. If the approval occurs after the start of the funding period, the outstanding amounts will be paid retroactively for the previous months of the funding period.
Delays in Disbursement Dates
Delays in disbursement can occur if documents are missing, evidence is incomplete, or the office requires additional information. In such cases, the disbursement will only occur after clarification and complete processing of the application. It is therefore advisable to submit all required documents in a timely and complete manner to avoid delays.
Change of Disbursement Dates
In exceptional cases, for example with a recalculation of the funding amount during the ongoing funding period, the disbursement dates may shift. Applicants will be informed in writing by the responsible office for training support about the new disbursement date in such cases.
Special Regulation for Follow-Up Applications
To ensure that monthly disbursements continue uninterrupted, the follow-up application should be submitted in good time before the current funding period expires. If the application is received on time, the disbursement date remains unchanged, and payments continue seamlessly.
