Importance of Proof of the Training Company
The proof of the training company is a central document that certifies to the Employment Agency that the applicant is enrolled in an eligible dual vocational training (Ausbildung). Without this proof, no vocational training allowance can be granted, as the training is the fundamental requirement for support.
Types of Training Proof
The proof of the training company can be provided in various ways:
- Training Contract: The training contract signed by the training company and the trainee is the most important proof.
- Certificate from the Training Company: A current written confirmation from the company stating the start and duration of the training as well as the vocational field.
- School Certificate from the Vocational School: In addition, a certificate from the vocational school may be required, confirming that the trainee regularly attends classes.
Contents of the Proof
The proof of the training company must contain specific information so that the Employment Agency can assess the funding eligibility of the training (Ausbildung):
- Name and address of the training company
- Vocational field and training start date
- Expected end of the training
- Details about the type of training (e.g. dual vocational training according to BBiG or HwO)
If essential information is missing, the housing benefit office may request additional documents.
Submission of Missing Documents
If the proof of the training company is not fully available at the time of application, the application can still be submitted. However, the proof must be submitted within a specified period. The Employment Agency will inform the applicant about the deadline for submission.
Special Cases in Retraining
In the case of retraining, proof of the retraining company is also required. The retraining contract, which describes the duration and goal of the retraining, must be presented. The retraining measure must be recognized by the Employment Agency.
Change of Training Company
If the trainee changes the training company during the funding period, this must be communicated to the Employment Agency immediately. In this case, new proof of the training company is required to continue receiving the vocational training allowance.

Trainees should ensure that the proof of the training company is complete and up to date before submitting the BAB application. If there are uncertainties regarding the form or content of the proof, they can contact the Employment Agency or the training company.
