Eligibility Requirements for Child Allowance to Finance Vocational Training (Ausbildung) in Germany 2025

The entitlement to child benefit during training (Ausbildung) generally exists until the completion of the 25th year of life. In certain exceptional cases, such as a voluntary social year (FSJ) or a voluntary ecological year (FÖJ), the entitlement may be extended accordingly.

The entitlement to child benefits during the vocational training (Ausbildung) only exists if the trainee is in a supported vocational training (Ausbildung). This includes dual and school-based vocational trainings as well as other recognized training types.
